Note: We are also hiring general farm workers and that posting is on our website: www.earthcandyfarm.com
We are looking for an experienced farm worker for our 2019 season who can lead the farm crew and manage the day to day field work. Anyone who has worked on a farm before knows what kind of position this is (and how important it is!). We have a tried and true crop plan and dependable sales channels; a perfect position for someone looking to test their skills, leadership, and responsibility within a supportive and successful farm community/business. Our vision is to provide mentorship and add responsibilities as the season progresses. We are excited to collaborate and tailor the position to the right candidate.
Wage: $2700 per month (approximately 16.85 per hour) for 9 months with a bonus of $1 per hour worked upon completion of the season
Commitment: March 1 - December 1. We pay a bonus of approximately $1500 ($1 per hour worked) upon completion of the season.
Housing and Food: Accommodation is in a large (20 ft) yurt, with a separate kitchen, bathroom, and other amenities in a common house shared by other farm employees. Cost of accommodation is $500 per month. Employees may freely harvest any food grown on the farm.
Schedule/Days off: Approximately 40 hours per week, spread over Monday - Friday and sometimes also Saturday for the market (shared on a rotation between two other farm workers). We also offer one week of unpaid vacation time, scheduled for the spring or fall.
