We are a family-owned restaurant looking to develop healing programs through nutrition and various other resources. We believe in offering our clients a full range of services to achieve optimum health. This includes promoting healthy gut flora, sustainable soil health, and more.

Chef de Cuisine will develop our new menu and ensure that the food service operations are optimized. They would also maintain policies and procedures for commercial kitchens, supply chains, budgets and certifications. Opportunity to work in areas from creation of sustainable agriculture under an innovative, community-focused scope of operation to holistic menu development for clients and hospital patients.

This position is perfect for someone with a passion and flair for the culinary arts as we embark on a journey of discovery here in two upcoming neighbourhoods in Toronto and the incumbent must live and breath Health and Safety, along with having a healthy dose of respect for our Environment and Community.

As the leader, you will be moving across all areas of the kitchen, including a la carte restaurant, events. You will need to lead, motivate and manage your team. You will be fully accountable for the profitability and standards of the kitchens. Your range of responsibilities will include the day to day preparation of food, development of recipes, cost control and assist in the running of service.

Knowledge and experience will be gained in areas such as recipe development, vendor management, inventory control, holistic food preparation and techniques. The candidate will also learn to ensure food quality, sanitation and proper food handling compliance.

One of the unique areas we are looking to focus on is to conduct food-related, nutrition & dietary research. Our goal is to work collaboratively with other health-care professionals, nutrition experts, university collaborators, and agriculture professionals in order to achieve a high level of potential for developing an effective research model.


  • Menu development
  • Manage procurement and product inventory: includes food production, sourcing, receiving, storing, and distribution,
  • Perform various administrative duties
  • Attend neighborhood based farmers’ markets and other venues;
  • Enforce professionalism and cleanliness of work areas.
  • Ability to display a high standard of health and hygiene practices in your day-to-day work
  • Prepare food as required consistently and to a high standard
  • Maintains a clean and tidy work environment
  • Flexible to work shifts, include weekends
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Overseeing implementation of new programs and measure performance and ROI
  • Implementing conservation strategies in energy, water, food waste, grease, etc..
  • Conducting inspections
  • Coordinating with vendors and certification bodies
  • Negotiating with vendors to obtain repairs, supplies, etc.
  • Overseeing workers, custodial staff, and groundskeepers


  • A strong passion for, and knowledge of, food and nutrition issues
  • Strong leadership, communication, writing, presentation, facilitation and organizational skills required
  • A high standard of cleanliness and workmanship
  • Strong technical cooking skills
  • Ability to lead and manage a team
  • Honest and reliable
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Ability to work with your colleagues in a respectful and cohesive manner

  • Previous experience in a similar role an asset
  • Ability to display a high standard of health and hygiene practices in your day-to-day work

  • A flexible schedule and ability to travel an asset

  • The qualified candidate should possess the following skill set:
  • Analyzing information and making determinations based on food costing
  • Communicate with team as well as working with members of management to ensure that various jobs are performed with expedience and excellence.
  • Detailed-oriented in controlling quality control (e.g. cleaning, safety, upkeep)
