Position: Member outreach and warehouse assistant
Term: 8-month contract, May 2019 to January 2020
Eligibility: graduates age 30 or under (see below)
Organization: Eat Local Grey Bruce
Location: Grey Bruce / Owen Sound, Ontario

Eat Local Grey Bruce is a co-op. We connect food buyers with food suppliers in Grey Bruce. We envision a local economy that provides meaningful employment, enhances the environment, supports healthy living, and vitalizes a local food culture. Eat Local Grey Bruce operates an online grocery store. Once you create an account you can add products to your cart 24 hours a day from Wednesdays 12pm to Mondays 12pm. You choose exactly what goes into your cart, and there is no obligation to order every week. Orders must be confirmed by Monday at noon to make that week’s delivery. Local farmers are the heart of our co-op therefore we source from local, small-scale farmers first.

Our small team of dedicated staff manage the online store, warehouse (in Owen Sound), packing and delivery. A volunteer board of producers and buyer members oversee the coop’s activities.

We are looking for a Member Outreach and Warehouse Assistant, whose responsibilities will include:

  • warehouse tasks (receiving, packing, record keeping, cleaning)

  • social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)

  • organize Local Food Nights at pick up locations and other events

  • Passion for food and farming

  • Passion for cooperatives

  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work well in a team and independently

  • Attention to detail
