The Tsawwassen Farm School

The Tsawwassen Farm School is a collaboration between the Tsawwassen First Nation (TFN) and the Institute for Sustainable Food Systems (ISFS). The first of its kind, the school fuses sustainable agriculture and traditional Indigenous food ways as tools to build community and create dialogue around land stewardship. The school program is open to anyone curious about the practice of farming to feed a growing population, in ways that restore the land and nurture Mother Earth. The program curriculum takes place on a 20 acre certified organic farm on traditional TFN land. The farm produces mixed vegetables, fruits and raises livestock (pigs and chickens) in an ecologically sound, integrated production system. The Tsawwassen Farm School is a gathering place to raise awareness around human scaled, community focused, alternative food production. The farm reflects aspects of Indigenous food ways through having a traditional medicinal garden, building a smokehouse, organizing feasts on the farm and inviting knowledge keepers to share wisdom and stories with our students. More information is available at

Location of the farm is 4990 28th Ave., Delta.
