The MarketMobile is a not-for-profit mobile grocery store which operates out of a retro-fit trailer and truck. The MarketMobile brings fresh, affordable, and culturally-appropriate vegetables and fruit to eight Ottawa neighbourhoods that have limited access to healthy food.
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
The MarketMobile team is seeking an outgoing, positive, hard-working and motivated individual to operate the MarketMobile. The MarketMobile driver is responsible for the safe operation of the MarketMobile infrastructure and market delivery. The driver conducts this service in compliance with all applicable transportation regulations, minimizing on-the-road costs and avoiding damage to equipment or produce, and with respect for their own personal safety and the safety of others on the road. The driver ensures customer service commitments at all times.
FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Program development and operations
The MarketMobile driver position is required to be present on the MarketMobile minimum one day per week. The MarketMobile driver is also responsible for monthly Good Food Box deliveries. The MarketMobile operates year round and therefore the driver is required to work in variable weather conditions. Physical requirements The MarketMobile driver position is physically demanding, the incumbent is required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis, and do repetitive tasks.
Wages: $17.00 per hour
Must be available afternoon and evenings Tuesday through Thursday with possibility of additional hours.
