Position: Field Worker on Organic Farm
Organization: Cedar Down Farm
Location: Neustadt, Grey County, Ontario (near Hanover, Walkerton, Durham)

Cedar Down Farm grows 6 acres of certified organic vegetables for Community Shared Agriculture – weekly deliveries of vegetables to 3 locations in Grey County and Guelph. We are looking for a part-time field worker to perform a diversity of garden tasks with a strong focus on harvesting but also including planting, weeding and other crop maintenance tasks.

The right candidate for the job is hard working and observant, self-motivated and flexible with a positive attitude. You will be working within a small team including the farm managers and other staff so need to have great interpersonal and communication skills. Previous experience on a market garden is a strong asset and will be given preference, experience doing manual labour outdoors also an asset as is any other relevant work experience.

  • 3 days per week, 9 hours per day (Tuesday to Thursday) from beginning of May to mid November.
  • Compensation is $12/hr plus a share of vegetables from the farm.
  • Accommodation is available on the farm (rent deducted from wage).
