About KIN Vineyards
As stewards of 100 acres of land (16 under vine), and as practitioners of truly sustainable viticulture, our pursuit of winemaking perfection begins with the soil. KIN Vineyards tends two vineyards nestled along the Carp Ridge, adjoined by the Carp River, and resting upon the grey limestone of the Ottawa Formation. Each vineyard supports a distinct terroir, a unique personality, and a tremendous potential for remarkable wine.
Full season: KIN Vineyards is looking for hard working individuals to join the KINfolk team for our 2018 vineyard crew. Ideally the candidate can commit to the entire season beginning in early/mid April and concluding after harvest and the burying of the vines sometime in mid to late November.
– or –
Spring season: We are also looking for spring labourers! Start early to mid April. Job includes pruning and unearthing vines as well as training vines to trellis. This is a short term postion for approximately four to six weeks. There is always the possibility of an exceptional candidate from the spring crew being hired for the full 2018 season if interested.
Approximately 35 to 50 hours a week, weather dependent.
There will be times of the season when we begin work early or work late to complete a job. There may also be some rotating weekend wrok, especially for those who have their Smart Serve and are interested in the retail and sales aspects of KIN Vineyards.
We are looking for team players who value a strong work ethic, have an openness to learn, are self-motivated and take pride in their work.
The KINfolk team is eager to find individuals who are comfortable with the outdoors in all elements and who have an interest in the organic and sustainable approach to land stewardship.
Farm experience is an asset as is the Smart Serve certificate. Vine and wine knowledge would also be an asset but not a requirement.
Must be eligible to work in Canada. Access to a vehicle is necessary as we work at two vineyards, located in Carp and Kinburn.
Wage: $13.15 to $15/hour based on age and experience.
Please send a one page cover letter, resume and a letter of reference to firstname.lastname@example.org and please list which position you are interested in: Spring or Full Season.
