Position: Service Manager
Organization: Miijidaa Cafe + Bistro
Location: downtown Guelph, Ontario


Miijidaa Cafe + Bistro is hiring a Service Manager. The position is responsible for guiding our team through lunch and dinner services by making strategic business decisions and motivating the team to reach peak performance. Miijidaa has been named as a Top 100 Restaurant in Canada by Open Table and we’ve also been recognized as a leader in the hospitality industry for our sustainable business practices and being B Corp Certified. Team Leader

  • Have pre and post-shift meetings with team members
  • Train and mentor up and coming leaders
  • Build an influential presence in our restaurants which fosters growth, learning and development
  • Build a weekly schedule for the FOH team that reflects the strength of our team
  • Inspires our staff B Corp team to make decisions about the operation of our restaurant that will reduce our environmental impact, build community outreach and be a great place for our team to work

Guest Management

  • Learn who our regular guests are and build a rapport with them
  • Handle guests complaints and turn negative situations into positive ones
  • Promotion of special events to our guests

Business Goal Getter

  • Responsible for managing a multi-million dollar restaurant
  • Ensure that all labour cost targets are met and managed accordingly
  • Ensure proper control and management of inventory


  • 1+ year’s management experience.
  • Experience leading a strong team
  • Degree or diploma in hospitality management seen as a strong asset.


  • A passion for teaching others and learning new skills about hospitality practices
  • Proven expertise in leadership and development of people
  • A strong problem solver with a desire to impact performance
  • Exceptional relationship building and communication skills
  • Ability to build a strong team of talented individuals
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and is open to coaching. You hate standing still for too long and want to grow your skills and drive your career
