You’ll also be asked to assess quality of produce, to help with general organization and cleanliness in the warehouse, and to do pick-ups from some of our amazing suppliers.

You will be responsible for making sure our warehouse and warehouse equipment is in a good state of repair, as well as maintaining a constant awareness of safety along with a clean and safe warehouse

As team lead, you’ll both be part of the team doing the work and also coordinating the activities of your teammates on the floor, ensuring things are happening properly and efficiently. You’ll be supported by our Management Team and others in the organization.

  • Passionate about our mission to build a better local food community
  • Able to work at a consistently fast pace without oversight
  • Experienced at managing people (bonus points if this was in a fast-paced environment like a warehouse)
  • Be physically fit and enjoy being active including the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lb boxes
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and stay on schedule
  • Positive, pro-active and able to face a challenge with a smile
  • Reliable and punctual always
  • Detail-oriented
  • Self-directed: Able to work at a high standard with minimal supervision (and within time limits)
  • Solutions-oriented
  • Interested/knowledgeable about food and cooking (especially produce)
  • Have a general maintenance knowledge
  • Have a valid driver’s licence (regular licence) and an excellent driving record (clean Driver’s Abstract); plus be comfortable driving a panel van if needed from time-to-time

Compensation: The starting rate is $22.00 per hour (+ discount on organic produce) + benefits after 3 months and the opportunity to work with nice people and help build a nice organization that you can believe in.

Hours:This position’s hours would be Monday to Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm (though there might be the option to work Sunday through Thursday if that was preferable).

Please note we always strive to have an 8 hour day, and this is usually achievable. However, there are some days when you may have to work longer than 8 hours.
