Position: National Marketing + Communications Manager
Organization: Walter Craft Caesar

Brutus Beverages Inc., the makers of Walter Craft Caesar Mix, are looking for an experienced and energetic person to join our team and be our first in-house National Marketing + Communications Manager. As a Canadian made, all-natural alternative to the mass-market (US made) brand, Walter has quickly established itself as the leading brand in the new “craft Caesar” category in Canada. We are a 3 1/2-year-old Canadian startup and are looking for an entrepreneurial-minded self-starter that is passionate about all things food and drink, wants to be creative, collaborative, take some chances, and help us continue growing Walter into a meaningful, forward-thinking national brand.

Here is What You’d Be Up To

  • Help Develop & Lead Our Strategic National Marketing Plan
  • Work with senior management to develop & execute a comprehensive strategic national marketing/brand strategy
  • Oversee & manage the budget for marketing initiatives
  • Bring excitement & creativity to our marketing initiatives
  • Public Relations, Earned Media & Advertising
  • Develop PR strategies
  • Build relationships with media
  • Write press releases & pitch stories (print, online, TV, radio) to generate earned media coverage
  • Oversee & manage the budget for the company’s advertising activities
  • Coordinate media-buys, help with activations, track success
  • Events & Activations
  • Trade Shows – Organize B2B trade shows in conjunction with the Walter on-premise sales team
  • Consumer Events – Organize & develop on the ground marketing team to execute B2C events/shows (including food, beer, wine & spirit festivals)
  • On-Premise Activations – Coordinate events & activations in partnership with Walter on-premise (restaurant & bar) partners
  • Promotions
  • Assist senior management & our National Retail Broker to develop & execute retail/grocery promotions in multiple channels & banners
  • Social Media & On-Line
  • Formulate SM strategy & oversee all social media activities / online marketing initiatives for the company
  • Brand Partnerships & Collaborations
  • Help manage existing brand partnerships & collaboration activations
  • Help to establish & build new partnerships

A Successful Applicant Will Have...

  • A passion for working in the Food & Beverage space
  • A degree – Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 5+ years work experience in marketing & promotion, ideally in the CPG environment
  • Experience in public relations/media pitching
  • Familiarity with leading social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)
  • English a must (French a real nice bonus!)

Other Details

  • This is a full-time position
  • Some travel & non-business hours required (trade shows, brand activations, etc)
  • Location: Vancouver, BC (or) Toronto, ON
  • Salary: 60K + up (based on experience)
