SUMMER STUDENT JOBS

Position: Ecological Garden Assistant / Assistant de jardinage et d’éducation durable
Type: New Brunswick Summer Students (SEED) and Canada Summer Jobs
Organization: Knowlesville Art & Nature Centre
Location: Knowlesville, New Brunswick (accom.)

* Please note: We are only accepting applicants who have a Seed Voucher OR applicants who are eligible for Canada Summer Jobs (i.e. age 15-30 & Canadian Citizen or permanent residents)

Wage is $12/hour . Employment period of min 8 weeks, or as indicated on applicant’s seed voucher. Local accommodation options may be available.

Ecological Garden Assistant / Assistant de jardinage et d’éducation durable

1) Assist with the site preparation and maintenance of the Knowlesville Community Garden site and Seed Garden Plots;

2) Help with the Community Seed Library Projects in collaboration with the participating local libraries;

3) Work with community garden members and volunteers to establish volunteer work days and communication tools;

4) Produce relevant signage and tool shed protocols;

5) Develop a series of basic garden educational workshops on composting, organic gardening, and permaculture themes for the community garden members and general public;

6) Assist with the production of our newsletters and updates to the website & social media sites.


EMPLOI D'ETE

1) Participer à la préparation et à l'entretien du site du jardin communautaire de Knowlesville et eb particulier aider avec le jardin de la conservation des semences.

2) Aider avec l'engagement publique des bibliothèques de semences communautaires; 3) Travailler avec les membres des jardins communautaires et les bénévoles pour établir des journées de travail, la partage des outils et les moyens de communication;

4) Produire des protocoles pertinents à l'entretien d’outils et terrains;

5) Développer une série d'ateliers éducatifs au sujet de le compostage, le jardinage biologique et la permaculture;

6) Participer à la production de nos bulletins d’information et mises à jour du site Web et des sites de médias sociaux.
