Leaders in Environmentally Accountable Foodservice (LEAF) is seeking experienced professionals to fulfill volunteer roles for our Board of Directors.
Leaders in Environmentally Accountable Foodservice (LEAF) is Canada’s only nationwide, non-profit foodservice certification program. Established in 2009, LEAF helps restaurants reduce their environmental impact and makes it easy for patrons to identify green restaurants. We work with all types of foodservice facilities including restaurants, cafes, food trucks, campuses and tourist locations, and are currently focused on growing the program throughout North America and Europe.
Positions to be filled include (please refer to the bottom of this posting for more detailed descriptions):
Chair, Strategy and Business Development
Chair, Funding & Sponsorship
Participate in online Board meetings three times a year with the potential for additional meetings during key strategic decisions or issues/crisis.
Provide insight, expertise, guidance and direction to the organization
Leverage my network to find volunteers, sponsors, and or/partners when needed.
Move forward on action items that are related to Board role
The time commitment will average between 5-10 hours a month, which includes fulfilling action items, correspondence with LEAF, meetings and pre-reading. Terms are 2 years, and may be extended.
Location: work from anywhere in Canada

Exceptional leadership skills and experience
Passion for environmental causes
Previous Board experience preferred.
Helps create content for Board meetings
Liaison with LEAF president
Available for media opportunities
Co-directs/leads the Board meetings with the president
Lead on the Board strategy
Helps review Board applications
Funding & Sponsorship Chair
Experience in securing sponsors and developing relationships with partners
Experience writing and fulfilling sponsorship strategy
Experience successfully securing grant funding
Provides counsel, direction and support for LEAF’s sponsorship and funding efforts
Board lead on sponsorship, grant and development volunteers
High-level of financial literacy
Non-profit experience preferred
Providing context and information on LEAF’s financials
Strategy and Business Development Chair
Background in business strategy
Previous Board experience preferred
Co-lead on LEAF strategic plan with president
Provides counsel on expansion plans and business decisions
