Job Mandate

The Operations Management Senior Consultant job is to ensure Mad Radish stores run as smoothly and efficiently as possible so that we can exceed the expectations of our customers and team members and support our growth. Working with the management team, this role contributes to the development and implementation of organizational policies and practices as well as the recruitment and training of store level employees.

Company Overview

Mad Radish is a new fast-casual salad concept, created by DAVIDsTEA founder David Segal. Serving chef-driven salads, soups and healthy snacks, we are bringing a new perspective to the salad category, emphasizing food that tastes as great as it makes you feel. Our first two stores opened in July 2017, and we are supporting them with community involvement and a donation partnership with Community Food Centres Canada.


  • Analyze and provide advice on the managerial methods and organization of the establishments
  • Conduct research to determine efficiency and effectiveness of managerial policies and programs
  • Create, maintain and disseminate operations documents: action sheets, SOPs, etc.
  • Create and manage training and communication tools
  • Serve as primary support and point of contact for stores and maintain communication flow between head office and stores.
  • Implementation of systems and tools.
  • Improve customer meal experience by ensuring consistent execution of recipes and portions.
  • Improve customer service experience by ensuring consistent application of our hospitality philosophy.
  • Implement efficiency improvements on an on-going basis.
  • Create and implement check lists for health and safety reviews.
  • Support the director of operations (presentations, scheduling etc.).
  • Onboard new managers and support the onboarding of all store employees.
  • Creation and maintenance of all ‘How-to cards’ (operations, food and systems - there are currently no cards for systems).
  • Recruiting at the local level, assisting with hiring ads and screening of candidates.
  • Manage 3PL and support store deliveries as needed.
  • Manage inventory (at store level) of supplies.
  • Conduct assessments and propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures in areas such as operations, human resources, records management and communications.
  • Provide guidance and support to business on regulatory policies and procedures; ensure internal compliance with regulatory requirements.

What you bring

  • Over 5+ years of multi-unit food service experience with a proven track record of successful operations management is essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree is an asset.
  • Attention to detail, and high-level of accountability for the quality and timely completion of projects.
  • Ability to time-manage and multi-task in a demanding and fast-paced workplace.
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Positive, energetic, enthusiastic with a strong work ethic
  • Innovative problem solver not afraid to get scrappy
