Are you an earth-loving, regenerative soil creating, composting enthusiast with a driver’s licence? We are seeking a full-time Green Bins Growing Driver responsible for collecting food waste from our clients in the GTA and transporting it back to our farm.
Wastenot Farms is a closed-loop waste diversion company that provides Greater Toronto Area business’ the opportunity to green their workplace and close the loop on food waste. We support business’ in diverting their food waste from landfill by collecting and transporting it back to our farm for worm composting into our signature product, Jocelyn’s Soil Booster Worm Manure. This position involves driving a minivan from our Orangeville farm to the GTA, including Toronto’s downtown core. At each stop you will collect food waste and swap out collection bins, interacting with our clients, and ensuring their food waste collection system is running well. After making the day’s stops you will return to the farm to unload.
This position is suitable for someone who is friendly, efficient, into making the world greener, and is comfortable driving in downtown Toronto. You will be working solo (think of all the podcasts!), as well as moving bins and bags of organic waste, sometimes weighing up to 50lbs (cancel your gym membership!).
Let’s be honest. Sometimes this position will require you to remove contaminating items (eg. plastic spoons, pieces of tinfoil, etc.) from the food waste to ensure it is suitable for processing by the worms. But this doesn’t bother you because you know it’s making the world a greener place!

This is a full-time position, 40 hours a week, daily work hours are 12pm – 8pm, Monday through Friday. This is a 1 year salary contract position paying $35,000.
Skills & Abilities Required of Applicants
Lift, carry, load and unload repeatedly up to 50 lbs of bagged food waste
Provide own transportation to/from farm, located in Mono, ON (Airport Rd & Highway 9) ***pickup/drop off in Orangeville may be available for the right candidate***
Excited to learn about worm composting and willing to work with food waste
Friendly, polite, and respectful
Attention to detail
Self-motivated and enthusiastic
Demonstrated ability to work independently
MUST BE minimum age of 25 years
MUST HAVE G class driver’s license with 3 years clean driving record
Experience as a driver in downtown Toronto
