Organizational Background

Foxglove Farm is a 120-acre organic farm and education center located on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia, Canada. The farm is located on one of the oldest homesteads on the island, surrounded by thousands of acres of protected forest, pastures and fields, bordering the pristine Maxwell Lake.

The farm produces berries, asparagus, melons, greens, roots, a wide range of annual Mediterranean vegetables, as well as diverse orchard fruits. We also produce grains and pulses and manage a small flock of pastured laying hens.

Foxglove Farm is home to the Centre for Arts, Ecology & Agriculture. The Centre was established to demonstrate and interpret the vital connections between farming, land stewardship, food, the arts, and community well being. Public programs, classes, and events are offered throughout the summer and fall.

Foxglove Farm offers accommodations and retreats in beautifully restored cottages and in the original log home on one of the island’s finest heritage working farm properties.

Position Description

The Distribution Coordinator organizes the washing, processing, and packing of all farm products, communications with chefs, preparation and delivery of restaurant orders, and assists in managing weekly farmers markets.

Specific responsibilities

  • Washing, packing, and storage of all farm products
  • Maintaining of harvest logs
  • Loading of market trucks
  • Participation and leadership in two farmer’s markets per week
  • Preparation and sending of weekly availability lists
  • Preparation, packing, invoicing, and delivery of restaurant orders
  • Maintenance of clean and orderly packing shed environment
  • Chef communications
  • Retail store communications and sales
  • General farm field and harvest support when needed

  • Good marketing, sales, and product display experience and instincts
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Quality Control
  • Drivers License and ability to drive manual transmission
  • Good interpersonal and supervisory skills
  • Abililty to work with small team
  • Good organizational skills
  • Sense of humor


The anuual term is June 1 to October 1. The weekly schedule is Monday through Saturday. The salary is $2,000/month, plus housing, internet, and select farm products for personal use.
