We are seeking full-time and part-time farm workers to join our team for the 2020 season!
About Salad Days Farm
We are a 7-acre market garden located in Centre Wellington, 30 mins north of Guelph, 30 mins west of Orangeville and 1.5 hours from downtown Toronto. We grow a wide variety of certified organic vegetables that are sold through a 100-member Farm Share (CSA) program, farmers’ market and local grocery stores.
Our growing practices follow those of Jean-Martin Fortier i.e. we work on a permanent raised bed system using low-till methods and hand tools. As we enter our 5th farming season, we are focused on creating efficient “lean” systems that will increase productivity and profits.
We cultivate approximately 1.5 acres of certified organic vegetables including a large hoophouse, several caterpillar tunnels, and heated propagation greenhouse.
Duration: May to Nov (exact dates TBD)
Weekly Schedule: Tues-Fri with occasional Saturdays. Work hours are 7:30am to 4:30pm with a 1-hour lunch break.
Although farming is a rigorous job, we strive to make the working environment enjoyable for everyone on our team. Running Salad Days Farm is a collaborative effort, and we are always open to new ideas and innovations that will help the farm operate at maximum efficiency.
Compensation will range from $14-15/hr based on skills and previous farming experience. A complimentary weekly share of organic vegetables is included.
To apply please send a cover letter and resume to email@example.com . Please include whether you are seeking a full-time or part-time position. If you are applying for part-time work, please include what days of the week you are available.
