About the Position

We are looking for a reliable and creative Prep Cook and Lead Meal Prepper to join our team and help us grow. You will be spear-heading menu creation, and will have to be creative in keeping our meals as clean and healthy as possible while adding big flavor! This position will evolve into a full time position (or additional part-time shifts, we are flexible!).

  • Work Arrangement: Saturdays between 9am – 3pm and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2pm - 6pm
  • Start Date and Time: ASAP

Requirements

  • Successful enrollment in or completion of a Chef training or Culinary Management diploma from a vocational or trade school or community college or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 6 months to 1 year experience in a related position of an institutional or commercial establishment providing a full range of culinary services
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate institutional and job related food service tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of the Sanitation Code, Health Protection and Promotions Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act and MOHLTC guidelines as related to food and nutrition service.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service, communication, team work, initiative/self-management, accountability, flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ability to work effectively independently or as a part of a team, under pressure, and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Plan new meals to be launched on the website’s menu and formulate menus in accordance with nutritional needs
  • Prep, cook, and assemble meals in accordance with the menu
  • Maintain work areas and serving areas in a clean, sanitary and safe condition
  • Assist in storing unused food and supplies; dispose of unusable leftovers and expired or near expiry products
  • Must be efficient, have high energy and attention to detail
