Position: Farmer's Market Manager
Hours: 30-40 hours/week
Organization: Windswept Cider
Location: Toronto, Ontario

Windswept Cider is a small family run cidery in Meaford Ontario, seeking to fill the position of Farmer’s Market Manager for the 2019 season.

The position is 30-40 hours/week, would begin in May and end late November/December.

The primary role would consist of promoting and actively selling our ciders, perry and jun honey tonics at farmer’s markets, managing inventory and market preparations. Occasional promotional events and projects at the farm/cidery may also be required.

Market Locations could include:

  • Wychwood Barns
  • Trinity Bellwoods
  • East Lynn Park
  • Leslieville
  • The Junction
  • Sorauren Park
  • Dufferin Grove Park
  • Evergreen Brickworks

Market dates include Monday-Sunday, days off would vary throughout the season. Market hours vary — typically 8-1 Saturday/ 9-2 Sunday, 3-7pm weekdays plus set-up and tear down time.

Schedule would typically be 2-4 markets per week.

The pay for this position begins at $15/hour depending on experience. Candidates must have their own reliable transportation and be able to transport the market set-up including tent and inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promoting the Windswept brand in a professional and friendly manner
  • Growing farmers market sales
  • Adhere to AGCO requirements for promotion and sales of alcohol
  • Recording and reporting sales
  • Managing cash and inventory
  • Maintaining market set-up and signage
  • Communicating feedback and leads for account development
  • Delivering wholesale orders

Our ideal Candidate:

  • Has Smart Serve Certification
  • Is passionate about local craft products and the farm to table experience
  • Is knowledgeable about cider and jun and able to guide customers through a tasting experience (training will also be provided)
  • Is energetic with a positive attitude, and customer service oriented
  • Has exceptionally high standards and will maintain a well stocked and tidy stand
  • Is detailed oriented, highly organized and is a committed self starter
  • Is capable of managing a highly physical position in varied working conditions
  • Sales and cidery or related experience is preferred.
