Looking for a dynamic Social Purpose Enterprise Developer and Project Supervisor
Riverdale Hub is a vibrant social enterprise located in the east end of Toronto. It currently serves marginalized women through a variety of programs and social enterprises. The social enterprises include a vegan café, community kitchen, along with event, office and co-working spaces. Programing includes a hospitality training program with the objective of establishing placement opportunities for the participants as well as other programs and projects that will assist women in reaching their full potential. We are currently recruiting an individual that understands social enterprises and the need for ancillary services to support our social programs. The position will require great flexibility, a broad range of experience, a creative, innovative approach as well as the desire to make a difference.
Oversee and be responsible for all social enterprises within the Hub
Recruitment and supervision of all staff
Work closely with the Executive Director to develop and implement the social enterprise strategy
Develop a business and marketing strategy to maximize revenue and build awareness of all social enterprises
Be responsible for hospitality training specifically in catering and event management
Coordinate various projects focused on empowering women within the food service and restaurant industry
Ensure all current programs comply with the criteria outlined by the key stakeholders (funders) and achieve their goals and objectives
Reviewing current processes and implementing controls in all areas
Coordinate meetings with restaurant and food service industry leaders to facilitate a project focused on empowering women in the food and hospitality industry
Responsible for meeting minutes and circulation of information to key stakeholders
Develop an action plan that is practical and implementable and improves the mobility of women in the Food service and Hospitality Sector
Two to three years’ experience within a social entrepreneurship field preferably in a supervisory role
Experience managing a café, catering or event management preferably within the not for profit sector
Familiar with GBA+ analysis to identify and address barriers encountered by marginalised women in the Food Service and Hospitality Sector
Familiar with issues surrounding food security for marginalized groups
Knowledge and understanding of anti-oppression, anti-racism frameworks
Prolific in social media – and you love it!
Demonstrated ability to create business plans and strategy
Post secondary degree in either business, community economic development or social work
Knowledge and experience in vegan cooking and baking
