What would it feel like to be part of a team that is making a difference in the local food landscape in Ontario every day?
To support farm-fresh, local food that chefs and restaurant patrons can really savour?
To support local farmers to access a growing market and emerging economy?
To be part of building a great organizational culture, where people can be themselves and change the way business is done?
If that door opened in front of you, would you walk on through?
We hope so!
We’re 100km Foods, and we connect local farmers with urban markets. With our help, farmers get access to large, urban markets and customers get access to delicious, farm-fresh food at local restaurants, hotels, and retailers. It’s a win-win for all involved.
We deal fairly with farmers, allowing them to set their own prices, and we seek to treat all of our employees, suppliers, clients, and community with a high standard of fairness and cooperation. That led us to become a certified B Corp (ever heard of that?).
Working with us, you’ll get to be a part of that purpose. You’ll work with great people who care about what they do, who bring a positive attitude to work, and who like to have fun. You’ll bring your whole self to work in a casual (no suits here!), friendly, and supportive environment.
Accounting and Collections Clerk
As our new Accounting and Collections Clerk, you will be the lynch pin to sustainability. Your mix of financial skills and people skills will allow you to have a tremendous impact on the success of the business, and help us continue our vision.

You’ll contribute to this by processing payments, resolving customer payment questions, preparing reports and working with your other finance team members. You’ll take the lead on proactively collecting for our accounts and execute on available collections options for accounts that don’t come in on time.
The best collections clerks are experts at balancing empathy and street smarts. They understand our company needs both a smooth cash flow and strong relationships with restaurants and chefs to succeed. They have high emotional intelligence that shows in the way they work with and treat other people.
In addition to collections from customers, you will also ensure that our vendors are paid on time and accurately, along with some other accounting administrative tasks.
Growing our business also means finding ways to improve our processes. You’ll help us find ways to refine our processes so our business can scale.
The Practical Stuff
