What would it feel like to help sell products that are making a difference in the lives of everyone involved?
To support selling farm-fresh, local food that chefs and restaurant patrons can really savour?
To assist real, local farmers in accessing a growing market and an emerging economy?
To be part of building a great organizational culture, where people can be themselves and change the way business is done?
If that door opened in front of you, would you walk on through?
We hope so!
We’re 100km Foods, and we connect local farmers with urban markets. Through us, farmers get access to large, urban markets and customers get access to delicious, farm-fresh food at local restaurants, hotels, and retailers. It’s a win-win for all involved.
We deal fairly with farmers, allowing them to set their own prices, and we seek to treat all of our employees, suppliers, clients, and community with a high standard of fairness and cooperation. That led us to become a certified B Corp (ever heard of that?).
Working with us, you’ll get to be a part of that purpose. You’ll work with great people who care about what they do, who bring a positive attitude to work, and who like to have fun. You’ll bring your whole self to work in a casual (no suits here!), friendly, and supportive environment.
Sales Support, Farm-Fresh Food
Thanks to growing business, we’re looking for a dedicated Sales Support person.
As our new Sales Support team member, your main goal will be to support the Sales Manager in getting more delicious, local, farm-fresh food into the kitchens of Toronto’s most innovative and exciting chefs and restaurants.
We get great feedback from our chefs and restaurant customers – they love what we offer and how we offer it. As Sales Support, your number one priority will be to support the Sales Manager in facilitating getting the best customers more and a greater range of products, through efficient and timely communication.
To succeed at this, you’ll work alongside the Sales Manager in a collaborative, creative way. You’ll help facilitate effective communication with our office team and Sales Manager, and provide excellent customer service to our chefs. At the end of the day, you’ll go home knowing you were part of a creative process that thrilled diners and advanced a sustainable, community-supporting economy.
Growing sales also means putting in place reliable sales processes, so that it’s easy for our chef and restaurant customers to keep placing orders. It's about fostering relationships with our customers that are mutually beneficial. Putting people first and living the 100km Foods vision and values, that’s how we succeed in growing the business.
The Practical Stuff
This is a great time to begin local food sales, as the spring season is upon us, and we are introducing new products and producers weekly for you to showcase to chefs!
You’ll work from our office in North York, Monday to Friday from 7am - 3pm and report directly to our Sales Manager. We offer a base salary, commission, two weeks’ paid vacation, group benefits, and above all, the chance to do meaningful work on a great team.
