Vancouver BC's Loving Hut Express Food Cart is one of the many individually owned and operated Loving Huts. In the vibrant community of Yaletown, Loving Hut is an accessible starting point for those making the noble transition to a plant-based diet.
LHE is currently looking for a driver three to four days a week (Thursday, Friday and Saturdays and occasionally another day.) The truck and trailer are parked in Surrey so if the driver lives in that area it may be easier but it is not essential.
This job is great for someone who would like some free time in the middle of their day. You will drop the trailer in Vancouver in the morning and then pick it up later in the afternoon, so you will have a few hours of free time.
A typical day includes:
7:45-8:00am - Leave Surrey
8:45-9:00am - Arrive in Yaletown, detach trailer from truck and drive back to Surrey (or wherever you live)
9:35am - Arrive back in Surrey (free until 3:00pm)
3:00 - Leave Surrey
3:50 - Arrive in Yaletown, hook up trailer and drive back to Surrey (may stop on the way back to re-fuel and get propane)
5:15-5:30 - Arrive at kitchen and help with dishes
6:00-6:15- Finish shift
Other duties involve:
Need to be able to lift a large propane tank with help.
Occasionally wash truck and/or trailer.
Hopefully able to do some simple maintenance work on the truck and/or trailer if necessary.
Salary is $70 a day. (approx. 5 hours of work)
Driver must be non-smoking, comfortable driving a truck and trailer and have a clean driving record.
