VOLUNTEER POSITION

Position: Marketing/Communications Volunteer
Organization: LEAF
Location: work from anywhere in Canada

Leaders in Environmentally Accountable Foodservice (LEAF) is looking for a Communications volunteer to support the rapid growth of the LEAF program.

About LEAF

Leaders in Environmentally Accountable Foodservice (LEAF) is Canada’s only nationwide, non-profit foodservice certification program. Established in 2009, LEAF helps restaurants reduce their environmental impact and makes it easy for patrons to identify green restaurants. We work with all types of foodservice facilities including restaurants, cafes, food trucks, campuses and tourist locations.

About the position

This position is ideal for students or new graduates looking to build their resume and contribute to reducing the environmental impact of the foodservice industry.

Location: work from anywhere in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the mission and operations of the organization

  • Create unique content for social media including images, graphics and video that will highlight components of the LEAF program and our members

  • Increase social media engagement

  • Increase awareness of the program through social media

  • Collaborate with our Chair, Communications to assist with press releases

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have formal education in marketing and communications

  • Have some knowledge and strong interest in environmental sustainability, especially related to the foodservice industry

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Be professional and reliable

  • Commit to a 1 year term
