Mossy Banks Farm is a sustainable, organic mixed permaculture farm with permanent livestock (sheep, layer hens, ducks and rabbits) plus seasonal livestock (meat birds, pigs, turkeys), as well as orchards, gardens and two food forests. It is also a teaching farm, offering workshops on various aspects of food production and sustainable living.
Accommodation, either a room in the main house or a cabin or RV, is available for singles or a couple. Room, plus all meals and snacks, in exchange for work. The food is 90% organic, most produced on the farm or bought at the local Farmers’ Market. Extensive library on all things organic farming, gardening and permaculture. Farm is close to Duncan, a small city in mid-Vancouver Island.
Full summer or Fall internships available. For short-term work, must be willing to commit to at least a month of work on the farm, preferably longer. Positions available immediately or for any time during the summer/fall.
