Wanted: Garden helpers
Project: Climate Smart Victory Gardens / Foundation for Building Sustainable Communities
Location: Sharon, East Gwillimbury, near Newmarket, Ontario

Climate Smart Victory Gardens

Climate change compels us to look at ways to explore how we can use resources, regenerate and preserve them for the future. The historic Victory Garden uses the traditions of generations past, add ingredients for innovative thinking and combine them to a renaissance for growing food, respecting the environment and sharing with others.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with garden maintenance
  • Assist with implementation of garden workshops

Personal Suitability:

  • Personally connects with people
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Physically able to lift 30lbs and use garden tools
  • Takes initiative and demonstrates integrity
  • Knowledge of plants/ gardening considered an asset

Job Requirements:

  • Student or graduate/ anyone in the neighbourhood with an interest in gardening
