Position: Market Gardening Internship

Come farm with us. We are a family farm growing 3 acres of organic vegetables, a diverse orchard and managing two large greenhouses. Looking for a person that wants to gain first-hand experience running a market garden. Internship can start in April and go until November.
Learn about soil health, seed selection, pest management, cultivating weeds, garden planning, harvesting, handling/packing produce, marketing, tractors, machinery, weather patterns, and more. Experience all the joys and challenges of market gardening. Always something new to learn in the garden. We can also provide some land for your own project if it fits in with the farm.
Work side-by-side with the garden manager, learning everyday tasks. Lots of opportunity to ask any questions and take on your own responsibilities if desired.
A room is available in the farm house or there are camping sites also. We grow a lot of our own food and you can feel free to pick and eat anything you like. There is a kitchen in the farmhouse. Dinners can be shared if you like what we're cooking. A trip to town can be provided if you need extra groceries. There is a stipend of $100 per week with this internship.
We work hard and find great satisfaction in a job well done. This job is labour intensive but also very fun! Keeps you fit and healthy while enjoying the fresh air. There are a lot of challenges to growing top quality organic vegetables. We strive everyday to overcome them and produce super tasty, nutritious things for our customers to enjoy. While the work is challenging, we also take time for breaks and work at a pace that the whole day in enjoyable.
Our farm has lots of animals, a flock of laying hens, herd of cows, horses and a couple of dogs. You are free to spend some time with them if you want. Also lots of forests, trails and rivers near the farm for exploring on days off.
