Ecosource is seeking Board Members (Volunteer Opportunity)
Who we are:
Ecosource is an innovative Ontario-based organization that inspires the community to become more environmentally responsible through creative public education. Our work began in Mississauga in 1979 and has expanded throughout the Region of Peel and beyond to promote waste reduction, urban agriculture, sustainability education, nature connection, and youth leadership. We are seeking 2-3 new Board members who want to make a difference by supporting climate action in Peel. Preference will be given to Mississauga residents, though all eligible applicants are encouraged to apply. Candidates with legal, financial management, and/or government relations experience will be prioritized.
As a valued member of the Board of Directors, you will:
The time commitment for this role is a minimum 2-year term at 3-5 hours/month, including preparation for and attendance of 10 board meetings/year with additional strategic planning and committee meetings as required. Currently we are conducting business in a hybrid format. Most meetings are held virtually with one in-person meeting per quarter scheduled with advance notice.
