VOLUNTEER POSITION

Needed: Website Support Manager
Organization: Green Care Farms Inc.
Location: Virtual, can be performed from anywhere in Canada as long as access to a computer and internet connection is available
Hours of work: 1-2 hours per week
Reports to: CEO

Organization Summary

Green Care Farms Inc. is a social enterprise providing an agricultural program that addresses social care needs for people with dementia by hosting a day program on a farm. Our mission is to provide outdoor programs on farms for people with dementia to have responsibilities, purpose and belonging. Our vision is a green care farm for people with dementia in every community.

Position Summary

The Website Support Manager will work independently to update and manage our established website. They will also work with an enthusiastic Green Care Farms team and CEO to fulfill duties associated with the position. This includes, but is not limited to, creating and uploading website content, updating program information and FAQs and supporting linkage of public interaction with the website to communication channels with the team. A website manager must display understanding of web design and be comfortable troubleshooting the website and constantly improving the User Experience (UX) of the website. Our community is important to us so keeping updated information on our website is critical! Key Responsibilities

The Website Support Manager will support Green Care Farms with the following:

  • Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading the organization's website - both to the layout and content; the person in this position would work with an established Wix design and branding templates.
  • Ensuring the mobile version of the website remains up-to-date.
  • Creating appropriate website content aligned with the organization’s strategy.
  • Designing materials for the website; we are seeking a person who has an eye for design and who has experience with Canva (or similar drag and drop design programs).
  • Maintaining the website wireframe and status of website projects with existing tools.
  • Working with existing style guidelines for the website, documenting changes and additions for the website wireframe to ensure that the website aligns with brand strategy and meets the organization’s standards.
  • Testing and debugging the website to keep it optimized.
  • Designing user interactions on the web application itself to improve the user experience.
  • Responding to and troubleshooting all website issues including identifying and responding to all website security breaches.
  • Collecting and presenting data on website traffic and analytics.Participating in team meetings and collaborating with other team members to share and promote marketing materials, newsletters, events, etc.
  • Staying current on new information, activities, and stories within the organization, as well as within dementia care and agricultural sectors

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Experience (some) managing and creating online content; no coding knowledge or coding experience is necessary but digital comfort will be critical.
  • Experience in communications, graphic design, content creation, writing skills, public relations and/or social media marketing are assets.
  • Passionate about social change, community initiatives and developing innovative models of care for people with dementia.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and great problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in an agile project management environment with fantastic time management skills, multitasking and idea generation.
  • Experience with major websites (Wix, Squarespace,WordPres,Weebly, Shopify, etc.) and/or major social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube etc.)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, including an understanding of how to craft compelling content with appealing visuals.
  • Detail oriented with a creative eye, as well as excellent organizational skills; self motivated and able to work independently.
  • Flexible with their time; ability to check in periodically and react to new developments.
  • Team oriented, gets along well with others with a positive attitude.
  • Values entrepreneurialism – you know what it means to work hard and to get the job done. Interest in social enterprise development, dementia care, and/or outdoor activities and agriculture.
  • Devoted to continuous improvement, growth and learning.
  • Motivated and committed to supporting and advancing Canada’s first outdoor dementia care program
