MARKET GARDEN INTERNSHIP

Position: Market Gardener/Intern
Farm: Wolfe Island Gardens

Location: Wolfe Island, near Kingston, Ontario

I am seeking an interested person to help develop a 1/2 acre market garden that will serve as a teaching garden for years to come. I have 35 years of agricultural experience as a market gardener, community and school garden facilitator and educator. My book 'From Seed to Table - A Practical Guide to Growing and Eating Green' was published in 2009.

Wolfe Island is a vibrant community with great people, music and food. The garden will supply produce to Island restaurants and to a small farmers market. Learn practical, theoretical and marketing skills.

Details:

• April to October internship, approximately 25-30 hours per week.
• Successful candidate must be motivated and able to work independently.
• Room and Board or stipend of $800 per month provided.
• Possible opportunities to work offsite.
• Ontario government COVID protocols in place.
• Added bonus - if you are a competent rider there is an opportunity to ride regularly.
