Groundhog Gardens is hiring for 2024 !

Position: Market Gardener, Part time or Full time
Farm: Les Jardins de la Marmotte / Groundhog Gardens

Location: Bromont, Eastern Townships, east of Montreal, Quebec
Housing: Please note that housing is unfortunately not available at the farm. We therefore prioritize candidates who live locally or are comfortable finding housing and providing for their own transport to the farm. Previous employees who did not already live locally have all been able to find housing within a 12 to 25 minute drive from the farm.

Are you passionate about growing healthy food for local communities, innovative farming techniques, fostering a biodiverse and socially inclusive farm environment, and gaining some serious growing skills?

Come work with David, owner and operator of Groundhog Gardens, a certified organic vegetable farm in Québec's beautiful Eastern Townships, and live a season full of agricultural challenges and adventures.

Groundhog Gardens is looking for:

2 part-time employees OR 1 full-time employee

All positions are seasonal, 24 to 26-week contracts for the 2024 growing season (late April to mid-October), with the possibility of renewing in 2025 if it is a good fit.

The chosen candidate(s) will be working alongside David and Christophe, an employee who is returning for a second season at the farm, to grow 40 different vegetables and a dozen herbs from seed to harvest. This year, we will be growing for 100 subscriptions to our Garden Card CSA program plus a high-volume farmstand and a new regionalized produce salespoint.

Our innovative sales model and hybrid production model (combining the best elements of biointensive and extensive organic growing systems) makes the farm unique in our region and guarantees that a season (or more!) working here will be a rich learning experience.

To learn more about Groundhog Gardens, the available positions, what you will learn with us, and the work environment at the farm, check out the job offer posted on our website: (DISPONIBLE EN FRANÇAIS AUSSI sur le site web).

We also need all potential employees to be comfortable communicating with coworkers in French — your French does not have to be perfect but needs to be functional.

You must be legally able to work in Canada to apply to the farm. We are unfortunately not able to sponsor any type of immigration for this seasonal position.

We are always more than happy to receive applications from recent immigrants, people of color and fellow queer folks.

If you have any questions before applying, feel free to reach out. Our contact information is available on the farm website:
