Job Purpose
This position will be an integral member of the organization’s leadership team providing critical support in the administration of CRFAIR and its partner initiatives, the South Island Farm Hub and Capital Region Food Hub. The Administration Assistant will support both the Operations Manager and Executive Director, as well as lead special initiative projects to develop organization infrastructure as we continue to grow and evolve to serve our mission to mobilize and connect efforts to develop healthy, equitable and sustainable food systems in the Capital Region.

You thrive on keeping things organized, working to prioritize and shape workflow that balances immediate deadlines with longer term projects. You are not afraid of spreadsheets, databases, online communication platforms, data entry, bookkeeping, and Google Platforms. You value your team and work through challenges with empathy and humour.
Duties & Responsibilities
This position will work directly with the Operations Manager and Executive Director in carrying out the following:
Qualifications
Working Conditions | This is a flexible position that can include working from home as well as in office. Until health restrictions are listed, this position will work remotely at home. Office equipment and supplies, including computer, will be provided. Office/work hours are between 9am – 2pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility to accommodate work-life balance. Work hours also include some occasional evening and weekend work for special events or meetings.
A portion of the work will include errands carried out in the community. The successful candidate will be required to use their own vehicle/transportation when needed.
Physical Requirements | Light physical requirements include desk work. Moving office supplies up to 10 lbs.
Employee Package | Internet and phone allowance, while working from home. After completion of successful probationary period: Three weeks paid vacation and financial contribution in lieu of Group Health Care Benefits and matching RRSP contributions as per organizational employee policy.
Compensation | This is a part-time position of 25 hours per week, the wage starts at $23 per hour. Potential to become a full-time position after a three month probation period.
