La Siembra’s ideal candidate will bring 2-3 years of experience as a product or industrial sales manager sourcing food ingredients or commodities in the grocery, food processing, or manufacturing sector. You will bring a strong understanding of industry trends, Canadian organics, ingredient sales, and a passion for high-quality, organic, fairly traded food.

This position will be responsible for the sales of organic and fair trade certified chocolate and semi-finished products and sweeteners for industrial, food service, manufacturing clients and private label customers. In this role, the Sales Manager will also work towards optimizing the performance of bulk industrial ingredient sales portfolio through collaboration with the New Product Development Team, Quality Assurance and Purchasing and Operations.

How you will make contributions that matter

Industrial and Bulk Ingredient Sales and Business Development

  • Develop sector pricing for industrial, bulk, foodservice and manufacturing partners
  • Proactively lead strategic account planning process that includes key account promotions and tiered pricing
  • Negotiating new contracts with customers and managing the development, accuracy, and delivery of those contracts with our production and purchasing team
  • Build sales projections/targets within the framework of overall sales objectives, brand presence, product line development and organic food sales opportunities
  • Act as the technical expert in his/her assigned product categories for industrial and bulk ingredient sales and product specification needs
  • Gather industry and market intelligence regarding new opportunities and key account innovation
  • Generating new business by developing new sales opportunities and converting opportunities into Camino customers. Growing the “opportunity pipeline” in the organic and fair trade food sector and prospecting to find new business
  • Performing administrative tasks such as forecasting, call reports, monthly reports, opportunity updates, budgeting, and expense reports. Update our CRM (Salesforce and Minotaur) system.
  • Participate in regular market visits and actively engage with key customers.

Private Label

  • Analyze, manage and optimize a private label product portfolio and provide recommendations for continuous improvement in terms of product formulation, profitability and SKUs efficiency
  • Work closely with the Innovation and New Product team to bring new private label product ideas to life, from product concept to market launch
  • Manage day to day requests for quality and regulatory product information
  • Oversee any customer complaints with external customer and quality assurance team
  • Key team member in the completion of any Private Label bid documents with Sales, Finance and cross-functional team

Trade and Consumer show Coordination

  • Manage La Siembra brand(s) presence at industry tradeshows
  • Manage preparations, coordinate logistics and represent La Siembra in-booth and scheduled meetings
  • Provide administrative support to the Key Account and Sales Channel Managers leading up to the tradeshow
  • Prepare and coordinate Professional and Industrial ingredients and promotional material

New Product Launch

  • Update and maintain accurate GS-1 database on all products
  • Coordinate Product Launch listing forms (internal and external)
  • Validating communication and translation
  • Maintain product listings and product discontinuation notices
  • Prepare product samples when requested

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in the organic food or natural health food industry with leadership experience
  • Bilingualism (French and English) spoken and written is essential
  • Excellent organization, presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Provide leadership, good organizational skills and ability to manage priorities in a rapidly changing business environment
  • Strong project and time management skills with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Knowledge of SAP or general ERP system experience and Salesforce
  • Marketing, International Logistics, Supply Chain, Quality, Food Science experience considered an asset
  • Willingness to travel
