Position: EPE/FSHT Program Coordinator
Organization: Riverdale Immigrant Women's Centre
Location: Toronto, Ontario

Established in 1982, Riverdale Immigrant Women’s Centre (RIWC) is a community based registered charity founded with a mission to empower immigrant and minority women and their families. RIWC delivers its services through a holistic and integrated service framework that addresses the social, cultural and economic determinants of healthy and vibrant immigrant communities.

RIWC's core programs and services includes the following:

  • Violence Against Women and Children (VAW)
  • Anti-Violence Youth Program
  • Essential Pathways to Employment Program (EPE)
  • Food Service and Hospitality Training Program (FSHT)
  • Women in the Garden Program (WIG)
  • Wrap Around Program (WRAP)

RIWC is currently seeking a full-time or part-time EPE/FSHT Program Coordinator to support the Food Service and Hospitality Training and Essential Pathways to Employment Programs. This position reports to the Program Supervisor.


  • Conduct outreach, screening, and intake and develop individual program plans for participants.
  • Meet with program participants weekly to assess their progress and the outcomes of their
  • individual program plans.
  • Oversee virtual workshop scheduling and participant attendance.
  • Work collaboratively with program staff to track participant and program outcomes and deliverables and complete evaluations.
  • Develop and prepare post-program plan and activities for all program participants and continue to provide support for a minimum of 6 months after program completion.
  • Develop an employer database that offers a range of diverse employment opportunities, including the food service and hospitality sector.


  • Attend program meetings and prepare minutes as assigned.
  • Assist with the onboarding and supervision of volunteers and placement students.
  • Develop flyers and other outreach materials for programs.
  • Complete bi-weekly timesheets based on tasks completed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Post-secondary degree/certificate in career counseling, job coaching, adult education or any other relevant discipline;
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in career and job development or employment counselling;
  • Knowledge of career and life skills assessment;
  • Knowledge of labour market trends, the impact of COVID-19 on the labour market, job search strategies and techniques;
  • Knowledge of the food service and hospitality industry an asset;
  • Ability to supervise volunteers and placement students;
  • Understanding and knowledge of barriers to access encountered by immigrant communities and vulnerable populations;
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Office 365, and Google for Non-Profits (g-suite).
  • Proficiency with the use of virtual meeting platforms, including Google Hangouts, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Organized with ability to keep detailed records, write reports and deliver statistics in a timely manner.
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills.

Hours of Work:

Full-time or Part-time for a one-year contract with the potential to extend.
