Salary: $48,000-53,000 annually

At Elements Society, we’re on a mission to inspire environmental action through education. Our interdisciplinary, action-oriented programs equip learners with the skills they need to take environmental action at home, school and in the community.

About the Role

The Coordinator of Education Programs is responsible for delivering program curriculum in classroom, and virtual classroom settings throughout the Vancouver area, as well as providing additional support to program Educators as they do the same. The Coordinator guides students through engaging lesson plans that appeal to all learning types and empowers youth to take personal actions towards a sustainable world. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to fulfill this role and represent Elements Society in a professional manner. Candidates must have experience working with children and youth, and general knowledge of environmental subjects.

The Coordinator is expected to:

  • Work collaboratively with staff, program partners and teachers to deliver quality education programs
  • Go above and beyond to create a positive learning environment and experience for students, teachers and parents
  • Demonstrate personal leadership, integrity and professionalism
  • Adapt or develop program lesson plans to meet student needs
  • Fulfill administrative functions required for program success
  • Work closely with the Manager, Education Programs to support the success of programs and the Education team
  • Assist with program development/adaptation, marketing, communications, fund development and other functions as required

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience delivering education programs to children and youth in classroom settings
  • An understanding of key environmental subjects
  • Strong personal leadership skills and comfort taking on increasing responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills to successfully engage students and interact with other stakeholders
  • The ability to adapt quickly to changes in work with limited supervision
  • A collaborative approach to contribute to a team-based work environment
  • Experience in food preparation with youth is an asset for the EcoCooks program
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid drivers licence is required for transporting workshop materials and props
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs
  • Experience delivering programs in both french and english is an asset
  • Previous experience in the non-profit industry preferred
