The position:

Ecosource is seeking a Program Facilitator to animate hands-on climate education programming for youth, older adults, children, and families. The successful candidate will lead youth engagement and events, support a weekly cooking program for older adults, help with a nature play workshop series for children & families, and design new climate education activities for a variety of audiences. This is an in-person role, with the main activities taking place at Ecosource’s Community Climate Hub in Mississauga.

Responsibilities:

• Plan outreach, stewardship events, and trainings for youth (13 to 18 years old) and schools who are part of the Peel Environmental Youth Alliance.
• Assist with the planning, preparation, facilitation, and evaluation of a weekly harvest & cooking program for older adults.
• Facilitate climate-themed workshops and events for community members of all ages, including a monthly workshop series for adults and a weekly nature exploration program for children 0 to 5 years old & their caregivers.
• Collaborate with team members and partners to support the development of creative environmental education programming, including age-appropriate environmental learning, harvesting/planting activities, cooking sessions, and games.
• Maintain Ecosource's teaching kitchen, outdoor classroom, and community garden to ensure that they are safe and accessible learning spaces for residents of all ages.
• Work as part of a team to create a safe and inclusive environment for community members of all backgrounds and varying needs using an anti-racism and anti-oppression lens.
• Support communications with youth, older adults, families, volunteers, and community partners.
• Assist with the administration of program tracking & evaluation tools and provide recommendations for ongoing improvements.
• Assist with other environmental education events, workshops, and programming as required.

Qualifications:

• Energetic and creative person with an ability to make meaningful connections with youth through leading dynamic, inclusive, and engaging activities.
• Previous experience with youth programming (13 to 18 years old) required.
• Passionate about climate education and youth leadership.
• Experience with facilitating education workshops for community members of all ages, including older adults and children.
• Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team to achieve shared goals.
• Strong communication skills, organized, with an ability to prioritize tasks.
• Experience with cooking and/or food growing an asset.
• Standard First Aid and CPR C Certificate and/or Food Handler Certificate an asset.

Application Information:

This is a short-term contract position paid at a rate of $27.20 per hour at 35 hours per week from September 9th to December 18th, 2026. Access to personal days and 6% vacation pay are included in the position. Due to the nature of this role, this position requires four in-person days per week at Ecosource’s Community Climate Hub in Mississauga and one remote day as scheduling permits.

A Police Vulnerable Sector Check will be required upon hiring.
