Position: Community Garden Coordinator
Organization: Our Rising
Location: Maple Grove, East Hants, Nova Scotia

Our Rising is a non-profit organization based in Maple Grove, East Hants, Nova Scotia. Through services and action, we seek to foster connectivity, collectivity and community power as part of broader transformational social change.

The Community Garden Coordinator will be responsible for the garden that supplies our mobile market. They will plan, build beds, plant, and care for plants as well as work with the Market Coordinator to harvest and prepare produce for market days.

2-5 months / Part or Full Time / $15.20 – $18 an hour


  • Good physical condition for shovelling, lifting and working hard
  • Shared values and a genuine interest in the goal of food resilience
  • Experience gardening


  • Experience farming
  • Experience with a similar or related project
  • Creative energy to put towards the project
  • Knowledge of communities and community groups in East Hants
