Company: Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort & Retreat Centre
Location: Cabot Trail, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Housing available

Located on 55 acres off the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort and Retreat Centre hosts our guests in a variety of traditional (Chalets, Lodge rooms) and unusual (Yurts, Domes) accommodations. Being open all year, we are a destination site that offers outdoor Activities/Adventures (kayaking, hiking, swimming), Cultural Events (Live Music), and Wellness Programs (Meditation, Qi Gong, Sauna, Hot Tubs and more).

We offer some staff housing for rent. Our staff are always welcome to participate in some of the above activities/events during time off. We practice all the prescribed Covid restrictions (masking, distancing, regular testing), and if you're from out of Province, depending on your vaccination status, you may have to isolate (we may be able to provide a space for this).

Our Front Desk team is a visitors’ first point of contact to Cabot Shores! The successful candidate should be outgoing and friendly with a positive attitude and a natural talent for customer service and multitasking skills. They closely together to ensure daily operations are done smoothly. We are looking for individuals who are efficient and comfortable being a member of a team. Strong communication skills are essential to work with guests booking accommodations or arriving to the resort and also the entire Cabot Shores staff. This role also comes with the responsibility of walking guests around the resort, ensuring they find their accommodations, and helping them with small tasks such as starting fires and maintaining hot tubs.

The ability to multi-task, while maintaining and managing administrative support, is important in this position. You will be responsible for coordinating activities and helping people reach their full potential. The ideal candidate for this job is resourceful, a good problem solver, organized, and up for an adventure. If this sounds like you, please send CV and two references.


Our busy restaurant is looking for experienced kitchen prep/breakfast help to assist our two cooks. If you are passionate about the garden-to-table practices and have previous kitchen experience, then we want to hear from you. Please send CV and two references.


Located on the Atlantic side of the Cabot Trail, Cabot Shores is a second home to guests from all over the world. We offer a range of traditional and unique accommodations, outdoor adventures, wellness services, cultural activities and serve nutritious meals in our Bistro. We are an eco-friendly resort and use non-toxic cleaning products and detergents. Join our team of hardworking, fun-loving staff and spend the summer in a beautiful setting, enjoying activities onsite such as meditation, Qi Gong, kayaking, hiking, swimming, music jams, and more.

Duties include:

  • Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping and dusting
  • Cleaning and maintaining to standard common spaces such as the main lodge, dining area and great room, common room, washrooms, etc.
  • Cleaning to standard a variety of lodge rooms, chalets, yurts, treetop geodesic domes, event space, etc.
  • Cleaning outdoor bathroom/shower houses, outhouses, composting toilets
  • Assisting the Lead Housekeeper in daily duties
  • Notify superiors on any damages, deficits and disturbances
  • Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate


  • Experience as a cleaner or housekeeper
  • Working quickly without compromising quality
  • Enjoy working outside (whatever weather condition is), long walking distance and can handle heat
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
  • Prioritization and time management skills
  • Enjoy being in a rural area of Cape Breton
