Our current livestock manager is leaving to start his own farm and we are looking for someone with energy and a passion for organic farming and livestock care to join our farm team and help manage our small herd of Black Angus beef cattle. Edwin County Farms is a medium-sized organic farm producing high quality organic vegetables, beef, pork and maple syrup in Ontario’s Prince Edward County. We provide organic produce and meat to the highly acclaimed farm to table program at Picton’s Royal Hotel (theroyalhotel.ca) as well as supplying our community and many of the area’s fine restaurants. We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in organic and or regenerative farming techniques to help us continue to develop the quality of our herd and improve soil health and fertility.

If you have a passion for working with animals and experience in managing a small herd; if you enjoy working independently and working outside in all weather we would love to hear from you.

As the livestock manager you will be responsible for overseeing and developing Edwin County Farms’ livestock and organic meat programs and related farm activities. Tasks involve care and feeding of 40-50 head of cattle, moving of cattle between grazing areas, assisting with calving, vaccination and tagging of new calves, maintaining and improving paddocks and fences.
