Position: Food Store Manager (One Year Maternity Leave Contract)

Position Responsibilities

STAFFING: Supports, mentors, schedules and supervises a team of 15 full and part time staff persons. Ensure that company policies and store operating procedures are known and followed by all staff.

PRODUCTS: Knows all products (Reesor’s own and from other suppliers), researches new products, plans for special holidays and events ensuring adequate products, liaisons with Kitchen Production Manager to ensure entrees and soups in freezers and coolers are well stocked and there is an adequate supply of baking produced for each day. Liaisons seasonally with Farm Market manager to know farm products availability for the store and coordinate timely delivery. See that products are appropriate to the season and that products match seasonal demand. Work with Assistant manager that product orders are regularly placed in a timely manner.

MARKETING: Finds great ways to display and promote products, works with social media person to promote them, and ensures a good supply of advertised products.

QUALITY CONTROL: Maintains a clean, tidy and visually pleasing retail store (front entrance and inside), ensures staff are following all food safety requirements, sees that food is packed appropriately and reduced at the appropriate time, see that produce area looks fresh and inviting.

CUSTOMER LIAISON: Ensures that customers come first in all interactions, assists staff in handling challenging customers and manages customer complaints.

RECORD KEEPING: Maintains daily sales records and other records as requested .

Skills/Knowledge Required

  • Previous retail and supervision experience
  • High level of social skills to interact effectively with staff and customers, ie good communication and a servant heart.
  • Love for local food!

Pay, Benefits and Hours

  • Pay is based on a rate of $18 to $21 Hourly
  • Benefits include five paid Personal Emergency Leave days and a dental plan.
  • The store is open Monday through Saturday from 9am to 7pm. We are closed on Sundays. This if a full time, five day a week position. The manager works with the assistant manager to see that one or the other is on site for each shift. One will open and the other closes. Saturday shifts are shared.

COVID -19

As an essential food business in the Stouffville community, Reesor's has worked hard at keeping all staff and customers safe from the Covid -19 virus. The person hired for this position will need to be fully vaccinated . All Public Health mandates are enforced, ie masking , numbers of customers allowed in store, etc
