Job Title: Marketing Coordinator
Eligibility: age 30 & under (funding requirement)

  • Date of Hire: May 11, 2026 - October 17, 2026
  • Number of Hours per week:
    • 35 hours for 8 weeks from date of hire,
    • then 20 hours per week until October 17
  • Salary: $22 per hour

For nearly two decades, Withrow Park Farmers’ Market has served as a vital gathering place where local agriculture, artisanship, and community connection flourish. The Role

The Marketing Coordinator will support all marketing initiatives identified as priorities by the Withrow Park Farmers’ Market Board of Directors. This includes working with the board to create an overall marketing strategy, the planning, marketing and promotion of weekly markets as well as sponsored and special 20th anniversary events.

This role is a mix of project management, creative content support, and data tracking. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and enjoy collaborating with committees made up of volunteers, solving problems and using their creative skills for a variety of marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Campaign Support: Optimize use of WPFM branding parameters across all social media platforms
  • Work with the board and staff to build out a social media strategy, timeline and schedule for 2026. Assist in the development and execution of digital, social media, and email marketing campaigns.
  • Content Creation: Draft copy for blog, newsletters and social media. Create visual content for social media and newsletters. This includes graphics and photos taken at the market.
  • Social Media Management: Promote weekly markets and events on all social media platforms including facebook, instagram, eventbrite and market website
  • Scheduling: Schedule posts, monitor engagement, and respond to community inquiries. Maintain an updated calendar of upcoming events and deadlines.
  • Reporting: Track and report on KPIs (web traffic, email open rates, social engagement) using tools like Google Analytics and google adwords
  • Event Coordination: Assist in organizing logistics for 20th anniversary special events, community events (ie; repair cafe, swapathons) and sponsors. As part of the planning, leverage event briefs and other tools to properly communicate event details with internal and external stakeholders. Assist with on-site event execution. Maintain an updated calendar of upcoming events and deadlines.
  • Website Optimization: Update website weekly with upcoming events & programming
  • Surveys: Conduct thorough surveys (in-person and digital)
  • Other duties as required

Required Skills:

  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing or communications
  • Web design, familiarity with Wordpress ideal
  • Email marketing
  • Copywriting, blogging, press releases
  • Social media and content marketing for major social media platforms
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop) or equivalent like Affinity, Canva
  • Google Analytics and Google Adwords
  • Photography and reels
  • Branding and identity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Flexible, adaptable

Please note: This position is partly funded through the Canada Summer Jobs grant.

  • Be between 15-30 years of age, at the start of the funded position
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted/conferred.
