Partnership and/or Employment Opportunity – Organic Vegetable Market Garden Manager

Been working at vegetable farms, gaining valuable experience and building your knowledge so that someday you can have a market garden business of your own?

Want to start an organic vegetable farm but don’t have the land and/or investment capital?

Tired of farming part time and working your uninspiring corporate day job to make ends meet?

This opportunity is for you.

Wicked Welly Farm and Apiary is a family run farm in Belwood, Ontario. We are looking for a passionate vegetable farmer with experience setting up and operating a market garden to partner with on the launch of a new part of our farm. Our 25-acre farm currently raises a variety of livestock on a small scale, has a 6-hive apiary and does homemade preserves, maple syrup and freeze-dried products, all of which are sold at our on-farm store. We also collaborate with other farms to offer our community sweet corn, fresh garlic, fall décor items and pumpkins.

In 2024, we plan to expand operations including offering organic vegetables. We have allocated just under ½ acre for this and plan to expand further in 2025. In year 1 we hope to offer a small CSA along with direct sales at a farmers’ market and from our on-site store.

We have land, resources, capital and a desire to create a thriving business that brings high quality, local organic produce to our community. We are searching for someone to partner with who brings knowledge, passion, a good work ethic and shares our desire to benefit our local community. Bottom line is we need experience and know-how along with labour hours to make this happen. We are hoping to find a partner for our market garden but would also entertain hiring a Market Garden Manager on employment contract.

We plan to hit the ground running (and cultivating) this coming spring and need to begin developing our crop plan. Soil samples have been sent for analysis and the field (currently in hay) will be tarped for the winter in preparation.

This is a unique opportunity as a partnership or employer/employee relationship. We are open to any conversations. Think you may be interested in something like this, lets talk. Together we can make this happen.

Please email your resume to along with any questions you may have. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
