The Prince Edward Island Farm Centre, a distinguished not-for-profit charitable organization with a profound commitment to community well-being is seeking to hire a Head Gardener, entrusted with the stewardship of The Legacy Garden — an impressive 8.5-acre urban farm that stands as a beacon of social enterprise.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee a thriving ecosystem, comprising 200 community garden plots, a fruit tree nursery, and the heartwarming "Goodwill Garden." Our mission extends beyond cultivation; we strive to address food insecurity by donating the produce from our gardens to charitable organizations. As the Head Gardener, you will play a crucial role in sustaining this impactful initiative.

We are in search of an experienced individual with a proven track record in managing commercial-scale organic market gardens. The successful candidate will bring expertise in coordinating online orders and sales, contributing to the growth and sustainability of our operations. Your ability to lead and manage summer staff will be essential in maintaining the farm's productivity and fostering a collaborative work environment.

While cultivating success in the field, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our Therapeutic Horticulture program — an initiative that positively impacts the lives of individuals through the healing power of nature. Applicants with a genuine interest or experience in supporting this program will be highly regarded.

This position can be year-round fulltime or full-time seasonal.
