About the Farm:
Started in 2005, Juniper Farm is nestled into the Gatineau hills on a 200-acre property in beautiful Wakefield, Quebec, growing a diversity of vegetables on a 5-acre rotation using organic and biodynamic methods; the farm also produces fermented foods and some prepared foods from its commercial kitchen. Production is accomplished through manual labor with support from two tractors. The farm sells its produce to many local restaurants in the Ottawa/Gatineau region, numerous retailers, as well as through both on-site and online farm stores. As an active member of the thriving local community the farm occasionally hosts events such as dinners, workshops, and festivals.
The corporation of Juniper Farm has many different business offshoots that need attention. The owners (Alex and Juniper) oversee the garden, greenhouses, microgreens, seedlings, onsite and online stores, the kitchen, restaurant sales, the fermented food line and membership to a farmer’s co-op, as well as, markets, marketing, finances etc. However the garden/farm is the most integral to Juniper Farm and where it all began, it’s our reason for being! The land and the food here are what ties it all together. We are searching for two people who will take on full management of the garden/farm and its staff. In saying this, we are a strong community who relies on and interacts with each other all the time in a fun, communicative and flowing way.
Our vision is to have a thriving organic farm on this land, working with a wonderful team of conscious people to offer our local community healthy, organic food and beautiful connected experiences to this land.
