We’re 100km Foods, and we connect local farmers with urban markets. Through us, farmers get access to large, urban markets and urban people get access to delicious, farm-fresh food at local restaurants and now at home as well! It’s a win-win for all involved.

Inside Sales Representative, Farm-Fresh Food
Since 2008 we have been a trusted partner and supplier to the best Chefs and restaurants in Southern Ontario, and in 2020 we added a new retail division to the business, allowing home diners to gain access to that same fresh, seasonal, top quality food from our network of 120+ farms and artisans in Ontario and Canada. We’re now looking for a sales team member to work on our Sales & Marketing team to serve both our Chef and home clients.
As our new Inside Sales Representative, you’ll be integral in helping home cooks discover the joys of eating seasonally. Increasingly, people want to support local and they want to feel good about where they make their purchases. You’ll be at the forefront of connecting those customers with the people and the land that grow their food, helping them to make food buying decisions that contribute to a greater mission.
As the hospitality industry reopens after the COVID pandemic, you’ll work alongside Chefs in an inspiring, collaborative, creative way. You’ll introduce them to products they might not otherwise think of, find ways of getting them new products they’re on the hunt for, and complete the sales process to make locally grown food competitive vs. imports. At the end of the day, you’ll know you are a part of a creative process that thrilled restaurant diners, and advanced a sustainable, community-supported local food economy.
Growing sales at 100km Foods means putting in place a reliable sales process, so that it’s easy for our Chef and retail customers to continue to put their trust in us. Sometimes that means getting on the phone, providing timely responses to customers, and working within our larger team to create solutions that continue to ensure customer service excellence. The Practical Stuff
Let’s be real, we’re hiring an Inside Sales Representative in the middle of a very unusual time for our business, the hospitality industry, and the planet. Things will change somewhat rapidly over the next 12 months, and you’ll be the type of person who will enjoy riding those waves with us, and you’ll be flexible and excited to create business changes that will drive success in the “new normal”, post pandemic.
The growing season is just around the corner, making this a very exciting time to be in local food sales! This is a year-round position, as winter sees demand for hydroponically grown and stored produce, protein, and dry goods.
You’ll work Sunday through Thursday, and during the remaining lockdown our Sales & Marketing team will be working remotely. Until the hospitality industry reopens, the hours will be 10am-7pm, and no travel to customers or events will be required. We offer a $40,000 base salary to start, two weeks’ paid vacation, group health & wellness benefits, and above all, the opportunity to do meaningful work on a great team.
