VOLUNTEER POSITION

Position: Volunteer Fundraising Advisor
Organization: Reimagine Agriculture
Location: Remote - anywhere in Canada

Reimagine Agriculture is looking for a fundraising advisor who can help us in the process of developing consistent funding for our organization. The ideal candidate would have significant experience in fundraising and would be able to be a strong resource in guiding us on how to build up a base of donors and other funding mechanisms. We are in our first year being operational and are working hard to develop ongoing financial stability

About Reimagine Agriculture:

We founded Reimagine Agriculture because we saw the opportunity to address pressing agricultural issues like food waste and animal agriculture that are not currently being given enough attention in Canada. The farming sector is often overlooked in the critical and ongoing conversations surrounding waste and climate change. As agricultural waste and demand for meat, dairy, eggs and other products of animal agriculture continue to grow worldwide, their contributions to the already dire effects of climate change will worsen. Applying our expertise to these critically overlooked issues, Reimagine Agriculture is committed to reducing the negative impacts of these systems, building the changes in Canada that are needed throughout the world.

We accomplish these goals through the primary use of education through knowledge mobilization, building alliances, and policy change. This can be in the form of presentations to various age groups and organizations, national campaigns with democratic engagement, and working with related stakeholders. Our focus is on being effective, using evidence-based reasoning and meeting people where they are. Our team is a small group of dedicated individuals and friends who are working together to make strategic and operational decisions for Reimagine Agriculture. What we are looking for in you:

We are hoping to work with someone who had significant experience fundraising and working with donors. The position would serve primarily as an advisor role. It would involve regular meetings where we could discuss updates and get feedback on our strategy and ways to move forward. The ideal candidate would be able to advise us on finding and reaching out to major donors, developing a donor relationship and donor management and other ways to achieve long term financial stability. We are incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, yet need more support for continued development.

It is important to us to have a volunteer who has a strong understanding of these agricultural issues and a passion to address them. Applicants should be open-minded and thoughtful. It is absolutely not necessary to be vegetarian or vegan for the position (and may even be an asset as that is the primary population we work with).

To Apply:

Interested individuals can send an email to info@reimagineagriculture.org with a few paragraphs explaining why they’re passionate about these agricultural issues, what they think they can bring to the position and an attached resume. The deadline is May 14.
