La personne recherchée doit être en mesure de planifier, organiser et coordonner les activités en cuisine afin de supporter les opérations du diner communautaire et la popote roulante et d’effectuer les préparations pour le jour suivant tout en maintenant les normes de salubrité exigées. Ce rôle inclut la responsabilité de l’établissement des horaires de travail, prise d’inventaire, effectuer les commandes et communiquer avec les divers partenaires collaboratifs à l’interne et à l’externe.
En tant que cuisinier.ère vous serez accompagné par une équipe composée de bénévoles, d’employée.es et de personnes en programme d’insertion sociale dans un contexte qui favorise le respect des différences. Vous êtes reconnu comme une personne créative et débrouillarde qui fait un festin de santé avec peu de moyens ? Saint Columba House is seeking an experienced cook with a background in community settings.
The ideal candidate will plan, organize, and coordinate kitchen activities to support the community lunch and Meals on Wheels programs while preparing for the following day and maintaining required food safety standards. This role includes responsibility for work schedules, inventory management, ordering supplies, and communicating with various internal and external collaborative partners.
As a cook, you’ll work alongside a team of volunteers, staff, and participants in a social integration program in a context that values diversity and respect for differences. Duties and Responsibilities
•Lead, organize, and plan a team of staff and volunteers to create healthy and delicious meals.
•Organize kitchen activities to facilitate volunteer learning and food preparation.
•Develop and execute monthly meal plans to provide nutritious meals, taking into consideration health needs for seniors.
•Keep inventory of food and supplies and order monthly replenishment
•Prepare snacks and meals from available products for Maison Saint Columba programs.
•Ensure kitchen procedures comply with MAPAQ food safety standards.
•Arrange kitchen spaces to meet program needs and ensure proper rotation of food and prepared dishes.

Technical Skills
•Experience in preparing meals for large groups (minimum 125 meals daily).
•Experience training and supervising volunteers and/or staff.
•Ability to collaborate with a diverse group, including individuals from vulnerable communities.
•Creativity and flexibility in meal preparation using available food.
•Ability to communicate in French and English
•Experience with food ordering, inventory management, budgeting and basic computer skills.
•Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Qualifications and Experience
•MAPAQ food safety certification.
•Experience in a similar role.
•Experience in community settings is an asset.
•Proficiency in using Outlook and other computer applications.
Working Conditions
•35-hour work week, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
•Salary range: $20.60–$22.60 per hour, based on a skills recognition process.
•8% vacation pay and a bank of personal leave days.
