Responsibilities

As a Farm Hand — Livestock, you will play an essential role in the daily care and management of farm animals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Feeding, watering, and monitoring livestock (cattle, poultry, and other animals).
  • Assisting with cleaning barns, pens, and animal housing facilities.
  • Observing animal health and reporting signs of illness or injury.
  • Assisting with breeding, calving, or lambing as required.
  • Operating basic farm equipment and tools safely.
  • Maintaining records of livestock and farm activities.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should have the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Previous farm or livestock handling experience is an asset, but on-the-job training is provided.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Physically fit, with the ability to lift and carry heavy loads.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Basic English or French communication skills (French is an asset in Quebec)
  • Open to foreign workers — visa sponsorship is available.
