Title: Intern Program Coordinator
Organization: CHEP Good Food Inc.
Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

CHEP Good Food Inc. is seeking an Intern Program Coordinator for a 6-month term position (37.5 hours/week) to lead the askîy internship program. This role focuses on coordinating a hands-on urban agriculture internship for youth, supporting skill development in food production while contributing to broader garden operations.

This position combines hands-on gardening, youth mentorship, volunteer coordination, and program organization. The Coordinator plays a key role in creating a structured, engaging environment while guiding participants through the growing season.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating all aspects of the internship, including recruitment, scheduling, and daily program delivery
  • Mentoring youth participants in hands-on gardening and food production
  • Leading planting, maintenance, harvesting, and post-harvest handling
  • Organizing volunteers and supporting garden workdays
  • Maintaining productive and organized garden spaces
  • Supporting site visits, tours, and educational activities
  • Assisting with compost operations and general site maintenance
  • Participating in team planning, communication, and program coordination

Qualifications:

  • Experience with gardening, farming, or urban agriculture
  • Experience working with or mentoring youth
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to provide a criminal record check

Assets:

  • Familiarity with Saskatoon community networks
  • Experience with event coordination or community programming
  • Interest in food systems or community-based work

Work Details:

  • 6-month term position
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • On-site work in garden and community spaces
  • Physical work including lifting, bending, and use of tools
