Organic market gardening, mixed farming

Hiring: Market garden/organic farming
Farm: Hoppy Fields Farm
Location: just outside of Fergus, near Guelph, Ontario

We're heading into our 9th season here, and are looking for 2-3 individuals to help with an assortment of jobs including nursery greenhouse work, pruning and trellising greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers, planting and harvesting crops, and washing and packing crops for our CSA, farmers markets, and wholesale accounts.

We have been transitioning to more tractor/equipment based work over the past few years, and this year we will be almost doubling the size of our vegetable field.

Applicants must be capable of heavy lifting, lots of physical labour in all sorts of weather conditions, and the ability to work alone and/or with others to complete tasks in a timely fashion.

Deoending on the applicant, work could start as early as March and go until mid November. We usually start new employees at $20/hr.
