Job Overview: Green Care Farms is Canada’s first care farm for people with dementia, offering a unique, nature-based approach to care.

We provide a supportive outdoor environment where participants can engage in meaningful farm activities that promote well-being, connection, and purpose. We are looking for compassionate individuals to join our team.

We are welcoming applications from: Personal Support Workers (PSWs), Students or professionals in Recreational Therapy (RT), Social Work (SW), or Nursing (RN/RPN), or background in Occupational Therapy (OT), Physiotherapy (PT), or Horticultural Therapy (HT)

What We’re Looking For:

  • A love for the land—gardening, farming, and outdoor activities
  • Willingness and ability to walk on uneven terrain and be active outdoors
  • Comfort in an agricultural context
  • Ability to assist clients with personal care, including toileting, peri-care, and brief changes.
  • Candidates with training and experience working with people with dementia are preferred. Specialized training is available for care providers through the Alzhiemer’s Society Brant, Haldiman, Norfolk, Hamilton, Halton. Responsibilities:

  • Guiding participants through farm-based activities—gardening, harvesting, and working with the land
  • Encouraging connection with nature through sensory experiences and meaningful tasks
  • Redirecting and supporting participants in engaging, purposeful activities
  • Helping maintain a welcoming and safe farm environment

Job Type: Part-time, Casual
Hours: 5 hrs per week: Every Monday 10am to 3pm between May 25th to October 5th (excepting holiday Mondays)
Starting Pay Rate: $30/hr as an independent contractor

Experience:

  • Health or social care Occupations: 1 year (preferred)
  • Past or current working with older adult populations
